Escape to the Country buyers were left "shocked" with the price tag on a stunning Leicestershire home. During the episode of the BBC One show on Monday (3rd March), viewers were introduced to Chloe and Georgia, who were house hunting for their first shared residence.
Splitting time between London and Nottingham, the couple looked forward to settling down after being together for four years.
With a busy life including Chloe as a senior marketing executive and Georgia as a paramedic, their combined £550,000 budget aimed to secure them a three or four-bedroom property, complete with room for a home office, and ample garden space for Betty, their beloved dog.
Jules Hudson unveiled a contemporary four-bedroom detached house for £535,000, followed by an Old Dalby five-bedroom with breathtaking views, listed at £550,000. Both options met with the pair's approval, but it was Jules' mystery third property that utterly captivated them.
A converted chapel now donning three bedrooms, boasting an open-plan design for dining and living areas, a dedicated office space, and a courtyard garden matched all their needs, reports Leicestershire Live.
The delightful surprise came with the reveal of its £475,000 price, which stunned Chloe and Georgia into amazement during their talk with Jules.
"No way, I am shocked by that! There is no way," Chloe burst out, while Georgia concurred: "I am in shock!"
Chloe exclaimed: "I can't believe this is the cheapest property we've seen!" as the duo couldn't hide their surprise at the bargain.
Jules informed them: "Everybody overestimates the properties they love. You have fallen into that classic trap. But the fact is, you love it!"
Georgia enthused the affordable price made the property even more enticing, and Chloe agreed: "Yeah, definitely. It does. We would have never expected this to be cheaper than the other properties we've seen. So, yeah, I think it's blown us away really!".
Despite being evidently thrilled, the couple tempered their enthusiasm with caution, opting for a second viewing before making any concrete offers.
