A Place in the Sun: Laura Hamilton take couple to view property

Channel 4 fans have grown accustomed to Laura Hamilton's expertise as she guides hopeful buyers in their quest for a dream overseas property on the enduring programme, A Place in the Sun.

Joining the show in 2011, Laura soon became an audience favourite and now holds the title of second-longest serving host after Jasmine Harman, who has been on since 2004.

But with 14 years under her belt, does Laura envision herself continuing with the show?

When asked about her plans for the future on A Place in the Sun, Laura disclosed: "I've been in television and the industry for a very long time.

"Since I was 18! So I got into presenting when I was 22, and I very much hope to be continuing filming, filming with A Place in the Sun and new property stuff. I am actively involved in property away from any TV-related stuff that I do."

Laura also shed light on the extensive work behind each episode. Despite its one-hour slot on weekdays, the process extends over five days—fundamental for the team to truly acquaint themselves with the home-seekers, reports LiverpoolEcho.

And she continued: "I guess they feel like they know us because the show is the second longest-running show on Channel 4.

"So people do feel like they know us and they're comfortable with us. It's great for me, it's the perfect thing! A bit of travel, a bit of property and the people!"

Celebrating 14 years of match-making between people and properties, Laura fondly recalls reuniting with a pair she assisted five years prior while on location in Gran Canaria.

The Channel 4 celebrity revealed her continued ties with some individuals she's previously collaborated with, explaining: "I regularly message people that I've worked with and helped find houses.

"My house in Majorca, when I found that property, the couple that I was filming with at that time, she's helping me as my eyes and ears on the ground over there at the moment."

While she admitted not keeping in touch with everyone, she enjoys hearing from them: "Obviously, I don't keep in contact with every single person that I filmed with, it just doesn't happen, but I love to get updates from people."

A treat is in store for fans next month when Laura hits the Ideal Home Show for property enlightenment along with stars such as Dilly Carter, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Lorraine Kelly, and Martin Lewis.

The show kicks off in London on March 21, and Laura is brimming with enthusiasm about her participation: "I'm seriously excited. It's actually something that I've wanted to be part of for a while now.

"So the fact that I'm involved this year is really, really exciting. I do have lots of personal property projects on the go and I'll be inspired when I'm there."

"It's the perfect day out if you're looking for interior or exterior inspiration. There are over 600 exhibitors there. It literally is everything you could possibly want or need. Even things that you haven't thought of are all under one roof.

She also advised making multiple visits: "I think it's amazing to go over a couple of days, don't just go for one day, go a couple of times because you might not be able to get around and see everything you want to see in one day, so why not go twice."

Attendees can look forward to gaining insights from Laura's engaging presentations at this year's Ideal Home Show.

Laura Hamilton will be appearing at the Ideal Home Show, on hand to offer lots of top tips, live QandA's and demonstrations throughout the 17-day home show at Kensington Olympia. Laura's fun insights can all be learned about at this year's Ideal Home Show.
