Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons blunt response about returning for a reboot

The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons has opened up about the possibility of a revival of the hit sitcom, which came to an end back in 2019 after 12 seasons.

The Big Bang Theory captivated audiences for twelve years, concluding its successful run in 2019.

Jim Parsons, who portrayed the beloved character Sheldon Cooper, has now shared his thoughts on potentially reviving the sitcom.

In an interview with Chris Wallace on Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?, Parsons stated: "As we sit here now, no. But also I never say never to anything, because life just changes so much."

"One of the things is that it was so special as what it was and as what it is, and they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason.

"You can be certain [a revival] wouldn't be that, and so why would we be doing it?".

"I don't know, that's that's how I feel on that right now. But like I say, God willing, life is very long."

Although Parsons is hesitant about reviving the original show, he did executive produce and narrate the prequel series spin-off Young Sheldon and made a guest appearance in the finale, r eports the Mirror.

The Big Bang Theory premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007, and aired for an impressive 12 seasons, comprising 279 episodes.

The main cast, alongside Parsons, included Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar.

Initially, the show followed the lives of five characters residing in Pasadena, California.While the first season received mixed reviews, the show gained momentum and acclaim in its second and third seasons, eventually becoming one of the most popular sitcoms.

It earned Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series from 2011 to 2014. Not only did Jim scoop the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series four times, he amassed seven Emmy Awards from an impressive 46 nominations.

The Big Bang Theory universe is set to expand even further with a sequel series to Young Sheldon due to premiere this year.
