Prince Andrew: Emily Maitlis grills royal over Epstein
Amazon has unveiled the first images of its highly-anticipated drama, A Very Royal Scandal, which sees Michael Sheen transformed into the role of Prince Andrew.
The Amazon Prime series is inspired by Prince Andrew's infamous Newsnight interview from 2019 and is due to be released in September. Ruth Wilson portrays Emily Maitlis who interviewed the Prince in real life.
New photos have emerged which show Michael looking unrecognisable in a white wig, with Ruth Wilson also pictured with a blonde hairstyle to emulate Maitlis.
In 2019, Prince Andrew took part in the BBC interview to address criticism of his friendship with financier Jeffrey Epstein. It later became famous due to the prince's claim that he 'did not sweat.'
Earlier this year, Netflix released a similar dramatisation of the BBC interview, titled Scoop. The drama tells the story of the woman who secured the royal interview, with Billie Piper playing Sam McAlister and Keeley Hawes playing Prince Andrew's former private secretary.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew is portrayed by Rufus Sewell who boasted prosthetics for the role. Emily Maitlis was played by Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson.
However, a spokesperson from Amazon Prime has stated that the new series will focus more on Maitlis and her professional journey as a Newsnight journalist.
A press release confirmed: "A Very Royal Scandal follows the action of Maitlis and Prince Andrew in the lead-up to the interview, the ground-breaking event itself and the many questions left in its wake that would change their lives forever."

Alongside Sheen and Wilson, the likes of Joanna Scanlan, Alex Jennings, Éanna Hardwicke and Claire Rushbrook will also appear in the Amazon Prime series.
Speaking about the new project being a rival to the Netflix adaptation, Maitlis told Deadline: "I think that probably is overplayed, overstated. This [the Amazon series] will be a very different beast. I’m sure there’s room for both."
A Very Royal Scandal will appear on Prime Video on September 19.
