Coronation Street Rosie Webster’s return 'sealed' as soap drops biggest clue yet

Coronation Street’s Rosie Webster could be set for a shock comeback to the cobbles.

The troublemaker (Helen Flanagan) made her debut on the cobbles back in 2000, aged just nine, and she quickly became a fan favourite. Over the years, viewers watched her grow up on the long-running programme as Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Kevin’s (Michael Le Vellkk) rebellious daughter.

But in 2012, actress Helen decided to leave the soap to pursue other acting opportunities. She also had a rather memorable stint on I’m A Celebrity that same year:

After making a brief reappearance in 2017, Helen left again in 2018 to go back on maternity leave to have her daughter Delilah. And she has not been seen since.

However, fans are certain a return is on the cards after the soap appeared to drop a clue.

During Friday’s episode (August 9) Rosie’s stepfather Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) was seen enjoying a pint at the Rovers.

He then shared how and Sally had to cancel on date night as Sally had been on the phone to Rosie for “two and a half hours.”

Now, viewers reckon this could be a hint that Rosie could be heading back to the cobbles. Rushing to social media, one person said: “2-hour phone call? What’s happened? Is she coming back?”

A second penned: “Rosie mention!! Hope she comes back!” A third penned: “Can’t we have Rosie back please?” While another chimed in and proclaimed: “Rosie mention! A return?”

Reports have circulated in the past few years that Helen could be heading back to the famous street. A source told The Sun last year: “Helen's talking about plans to return - not this year, but maybe late next year.

"Bosses have made it clear they'd welcome her back and she sees the soap cast as family. She misses them, and playing Rosie, a lot.”

The TV star even revealed last year that she would “love” to return to the show, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star.
