Corrie's Ryan Prescott describes spending time with Princess Royal
Princess Anne recently paid a visit to the cobbled streets of Weatherfield ahead of Coronation Street’s harrowing acid attack storyline. During Tuesday’s instalment of This Morning, actor Ryan Prescott, who plays Ryan Connor, told hosts Alison Hammond and Holly Willoughby what it was like meeting Her Royal Highness.
On Monday night, ITV viewers witnessed Ryan become the victim of stalker Justin Rutherford's (played by Andrew Still) hateful act.
After being obsessed with barmaid Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) for months, he decided to take drastic action on the day of her wedding day to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
However, as Ryan got in the way when Justin threw the acid, Coronation Street fans saw him screaming in agony as the liquid fell on his face.
For the storyline, the ITV soap has been working closely with The Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) and The Katie Piper Foundation.

Last week, those involved with the acid attack plot met Princess Anne, who is a patron of ASTI, when she arrived on set.
Ryan detailed what it was like meeting the Princess Royal, explaining he was surprised by how much she knew about the soap.
"She came to visit us the other day which was amazing," he began.
“She’s a very busy woman, she was extremely well versed in all things Coronation Street so I think a few of us at the studio are hoping she’s a bit of a fan. I can’t say if she is, but it would be nice.”
Holly commented: “This is a subject that’s very close to her heart.”
Agreeing, Ryan added: “Yeah definitely, she’s the patron of I think 100 charities as well, she never stops.
“But yeah, it was really lovely to have her in the studio. We were all very privileged.”
He went on to detail: "She came into The Rovers and we talked through the scene and stuff like that.”
