Line of Duty season 5 spoilers: Who did Jane Cafferty point to?
LINE OF DUTY season 5 continues tonight on BBC One and ahead of tonight’s episode, fans of the police drama series are wondering one thing: Who did Jane Cafferty point to? Here’s everything you need to know.
Line of Duty: Steve receives a message on a dating app
Line of Duty season five, episode three airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One. Last week saw AC-12 dismantle operation Pear-tree and at the end of the episode, Jane Cafferty (played by Sian Reese-Williams) was taken in for questioning. Read on to find out more about the information Cafferty was giving to AC-12.
Who did Jane Cafferty point to?
Unfortunately, viewers do not know who Jane Cafferty pointed to at the end of Line of Duty episode two.
Hopefully, in tonight’s episode, it will be revealed very early on just who she was blaming.
Cafferty was asked to point out the crime boss who recruited and blackmailed her into giving the OCG information.
Last week’s episode of Line of Duty drew to a close when Jane was looking at a series of mugshots on the table in front of her.
In the end, she pointed to just one picture and fans are desperate to know who it was.
In true Jed Mercurio style, the screen faded to black as the end credits rolled up, preventing viewers from seeing who Cafferty actually pointed at.
Many fans have been speculating that the mysterious H is the beloved Ted Hasting (Adrian Dunbar).
Or is John Corbett (Stephen Graham) simply playing DC Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) to get closer to AC-12?
Cast members of Line of Duty have also been teasing that H may well be Ted Hastings.
Compston, who plays DC Steve Arnott was speaking recently on BBC Radio Five Live and dropped a huge hint that Ted is guilty.
Martin answered: “All I can say is AC-12 will go wherever the evidence will lead to whoever that may be.”
He continued: “Some of the theories are dead on, and some of the theories are wild.
“One of them is Kate’s middle name is Helen, so she’s actually H, but I think someone made that up and it became a rumour.”
Martin finished off by saying: “I think people enjoy working out the clues.”
However, Martin, later on, suggested how one look changed everything towards the end of season four.
He said: “I think the end of series four is everything ended well and we caught everyone, and then Ted gave Kate that look and everything changed.”
Speaking on Lorraine at the end of March, Dunbar said: “I can’t telly ou anything, that’s the problem.
“Well it's not looking good for Ted, it has to be said. He does come under scrutiny in the new series.”
Line of Duty is not giving too much away about what will happen in tonight’s episode.
Last week, Corbett told Arnott about his role as an undercover officer in the OCG, allowing AC-12 to partly dismantle the group.
The synopsis for tonight’s episode reads: “Corbett’s most daring plan yet requires McQueen to exploit links with corrupt police officers.
"AC-12 make a shocking discovery.”
