Coronation Street spoilers: Amy Barlow forced to give up baby as Tyler makes shock return?
CORONATION STREET viewers are wrapped up in a tough storyline involving young Amy Barlow, who is about to see her situation get a lot worse.
Coronation Street: Amy confronts Tyler about pregnancy
Coronation Street youngster Amy Barlow (played by Elle Mulvaney) shocked viewers and her parents when she revealed she was pregnant last month.
And while Amy’s parents, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) are struggling to come to terms with this, Amy is about to receive some unexpected news.
In upcoming scenes the father of Amy’s baby Tyler Tefferies (Will Barnett) will make a shock arrival at her door with his mother in tow to demand access to her baby.
Amy is then thrust into a tough situation when she realises her child’s family is here to stay.
And working with the family has already been difficult, so Amy has not got the greatest faith in their ongoing relationship.
Amy doesn’t make her situation any easier when she goes on to lie to her mother about her upcoming 12-week scan.
When Tracy inquires about Amy’s upcoming scan she is surprised when she is told nothing has been mentioned about it.
But the passionate mother isn’t satisfied with her answer and searches Amy’s room for information.
And to her horror she finds a letter from the hospital - prompting her to realise she has been lied to.
Despite this, Tracy and Steve sit down with Amy to reassure her they are behind her, no matter what happens.
But they are interrupted by Tyler’s mother, Vicky, who is adamant they will be involved in the baby’s life.
It is later revealed she has even been pushing Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) and Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) to give Tyler a job washing dishes at the Bistro.
Vicky then goes on to tell Steve and Tracy that Tyler is sorry for the way he behaved when he discovered the baby was his.
But has he turned over a new leaf? Or is his mum pushing him in a new direction?
Meanwhile one cast member who recently left the soap to have a real baby has now confirmed her return.
Rosie Webster actor Helen Flanagan told The Mirror yesterday she will “definitely” return to the show.
She said: “Having children has totally changed my priorities. It gives me meaning and purpose.
"With Scott’s job we’re settled in Glasgow at the moment but I’d love to go back to Coronation Street. It’s just a matter of when and how I work it.
"We all share parenting tips in the green room at Corrie. It’s such a family atmosphere. I went to the National Television Awards the other week, which was fab. It was really fun to get glammed up again and to feel nice in my dress.
"All my old Corrie mates got to meet [my daughter] at breakfast. I miss everyone so much I definitely will go back. It’s just when that will be."
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
