Emmerdale spoilers: Debbie Dingle ARRESTED over Joe Tate murder in shock twist
EMMERDALE saw the demise of one it’s most complex characters on the ITV soap tonight, but there is still a lot more to unfold in the storyline.
Emmerdale: Graham asks Cain where Joe is
Joe Tate (played by Ned Porteous) appeared to meet his maker on Emmerdale, but the consequences for Debbie Dingle (Charle Webb) could be disastrous.
Debbie was completely distraught when Joe abandoned her on the ITV soap this week, despite him not having a choice.
So, the revelation that he has seemingly been murdered will no doubt tear her apart.
In tonight’s episode, Debbie had to comfort a devastated Sarah (Katie Hill) after Joe appeared to have walked out on them.
She does get arrested yeah so we have got the court case coming up
Now, Debbie star Charley has revealed that after everything, she will focus on her unwell daughter.
She spilled: “Yes she will [focus on Sarah], obviously Sarah is heartbroken, probably more than she would've been [if she wasn't ill].
“She does get arrested yeah so we have got the court case coming up.”
But how will Debbie get involved in the investigation?
Charley went on to discuss how she would cope on the inside if she did end up in prison.
The actress said: “If she does go for a long time her kids will be on the outside so she probably won't cope well and it would be for something that wasn't her fault so it would be a kick in the teeth.”
Joe was punched by Debbies’s dad Cain (Jeff Hordley) and bashed his head on a rock
Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) told Cain he’d killed the young man, but viewers later saw Joe’s fingers twitch.
Graham had bundled Joe’s body into his boot but when he was next shown on screen it was empty, and Graham broke down in tears in his car.
While it looks like Cain is behind the killing, and he certainly thinks he is responsible, that may not be the case.
But that might not stop Debbie from lashing out when she finds out what happened.
Charley has lifted the lid on how her character may react to the situation.
“I don't know, it will be interesting to see when she finds out,” she said.
“It will definitely change their relationship and it will be hard to forgive.
“Obviously he didn't tell her as well and if he had, maybe she could have dealt with it had she known what had happened, she obviously would be upset and angry but it's the lie as well... she might kill him,” Charley continued.
Could Cain end up six feet under too?
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
