Emmerdale spoilers: Ross Barton in unforgivable Belle Dingle plot as exit revealed?
EMMERDALE favourite Ross Barton could be about to make an unforgivable decision against Belle Dingle following tonight’s Lachlan White story twist that teased more secrets. As his desperate search for Rebecca reaches a dead end will he hurt the teenager and leave the soap?
Emmerdale: Rob says he won't stop until he finds Rebecca
Ross (played by Michael Parr) has almost reached breaking point in his feelings about the missing Rebecca (Emily Head) on Emmerdale this week.
Tonight saw the father-of-one get even further involved in drugs as the stress and exhaustion became too much, and he convinced himself Rebecca was dead.
Yet in a shocking twist, the lines were blurred between Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson) and Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) when the serial killer concocted an elaborate plan to implicate his girlfriend in his murders.
Viewers were initially convinced the character was simply lying to get an advantage against the police, but things quickly changed on the ITV soap.
Panicking and anxious over the situation, Belle ended up telling the police she had known about Lachlan’s first murders in a startling twist.
On drugs, Ross turned on Belle in the Woolpack and became incredibly dangerous, but will he start a village-wide petition against the character and force her to help him find Rebecca?
Viewers may remember the day Lachlan swerved the car into an oncoming lorry and killed his mother Chrissie White (Louise Marwood) and grandfather Lawrence White (John Bowe) he was almost ready to reveal it all.
Belle recalled: “I would never cover up for him, you’ve got to believe me, he killed a lot of people he never confessed."
As the realisation dawned, Belle admitted: “I didn’t believe him. He told me what happened with his mum and grandad was his fault, but I just thought that was grief talking.”
I would never cover up for him, you’ve got to believe me
“Why would I take him seriously?” she demanded.
“Lachlan’s clearly turned on you,” the police woman said. “So protecting him now makes no sense. Help us find Rebecca’s body and we can help you.”
“It’s like you’re not hearing me,” Belle begged. “I can’t help you find her because I don’t know where she is! I didn’t know about anything until it was too late.”
But in an unbelievable soap twist, it could turn out Belle has known all along, turning the Northern drama into a television programme more like a psychological thriller.
Have viewers been given the pieces all along and they only need to put them together to realise Belle was working with Lachlan?
Emmerdale: Ryan confronts Ross about his drug problem
Or will this be an awful case of mistaken evidence?
Either way, Ross could go too far by killing Belle or hurting her to the point he ends up in prison on the ITV soap.
Viewers are already aware Ross will be departing the village later this year following the actor’s announcement months ago.
The angry mechanic declared: “She covered for him and now Rebecca’s dead so I’m sorry if it’s an inconvenience for you! Look I’m sorry Belle, but you were living with a killer and now you’re trying to tell me that none of you knew a thing?”
“All I care about is Rebecca and if she knows something and you’re protecting her then it is on you, on all of you,” he added ominously.
