Doctor Who season 11 spoilers: Jodie Whittaker drops Time Lord bombshell ahead of series
DOCTOR WHO will be returning to the small screen very soon and with just a matter of weeks to go before the launch of season 11, the show’s first female Time Lord, Jodie Whittaker, has let slip a huge secret.

Jodie Whittaker is set to take on the legendary role as the first ever female Time Lord in the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.
The 36-year-old actress has confessed to never watching the show growing up, but said she was prepared to watch episodes back-to-back before her audition.
“Doctor Who wasn’t something that was on TV in my house when I was growing up,” Jodie admitted.
“So I thought I’d have to cane it before the first audition and watch every single episode.”

But Jodie never had to catch up on a catalogue of shows as showrunner Chris Chibnail wanted her to bring her own style to it.
She told Marie Claire: “Thankfully, Chris said, ‘I don’t want you to. I want you to come in with fresh eyes and bring what you would do in this environment’.”
The mother-of-one, who will make her debut as the Time Lord on October 7, revealed she had prepared herself for criticism after being cast as the first female to play the role.
“I knew that there would be a huge amount of people it would be a shock for,” she explained.
“But this job celebrates change more than any other role – you have a physical regeneration, so casting [a woman] supports that story and doesn’t go against the rules of the show in any way.”
She continued: “I’m playing a Time Lord who’s essentially an alien and inhabits different bodies and this one is female.
“The best thing for me though is that, for the first time in my life, I am not playing a stereotypical woman because as much as I approach everything as an actor, I am continually labelled by the female version of that character.”
Jodie will be working alongside The Chase’s Bradley Walsh, actress Mandip Gill and actor Tosin Cole.
Talking about the trio, she gushed: “I adore the companions. I’m blessed to be given three people I now consider family members to go on this journey with.”
For the first time in the history of Doctor Who the show will air on a Sunday and not its regular slot on Saturday evening.
The exact time of release is currently unknown, but it will presumably be around the same time of day.

Explaining the new schedule, Chris said: “New Doctor, new home! Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor is about to burst into Sunday nights - and make the end of the weekend so much more exciting.
“Get everybody’s homework done, sort out your Monday clothes, then grab some special Sunday night popcorn, and settle down with all of the family for Sunday night adventures across space and time.”
He added: “Also, move the sofa away from the wall so parents can hide behind it during the scary bits.
“The Thirteenth Doctor is falling from the sky and it’s going to be a blast.”
Doctor Who will return to BBC One on October 7.
