Emmerdale spoilers: Lachlan White confesses to KILLING Sam Dingle in tense cliffhanger
EMMERDALE ended on a tense cliffhanger tonight, as Lachlan confessed to his girlfriend Belle Dingle that he had killed her brother Sam Dingle, prompting an outrage from soap fans.
Emmerdale: Lachlan admits to MURDERING Sam
Lachlan (played by Thomas Atkinson) was acting suspiciously in tonight’s visit to Emmerdale when he tried to cover up one of his many murders.
Taking a spade out his car, the teen was about to dig a hole to conceal a body when he was interrupted by Sam (James Hooton)
The next time viewers saw Lachlan, he was hastily washing his bloodied hands as it seemed he had claimed yet another victim.
It was then confirmed by Lachlan that he had killed the Dales favourite when Belle questioned her boyfriend.
Stumbling across Lachlan’s hoodie covered in blood, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was anxious to know what her boyfriend had done.
When Lachlan returned to see Belle after telling her they needed to leave the village, the scared teen was seen holding the hoodie.
Belle shakily asked: “Who’s blood is this?”
Trying to worm his way out of the situation, Lachlan replied: “I cut myself earlier tying to fix the car.”
However, Belle wasn’t falling for the lies and told her boyfriend she wanted evidence: “Lachlan just show because there is a lot of blood on her.”
Still trying to divert the questions, the teen then made a shock admission to his girlfriend: “I had no choice do you understand?”
He’s gone Belle, it was quick
He continued with his confession: “Why did he have to be standing there?
“I like Sam you know I do. I didn’t want to hurt him but he’d seen too much,” Lachlan explained.
“He’s gone Belle, it was quick,” the villain said menacingly.
Viewers of the ITV soap were distraught at the idea Sam has been killed off and took to Twitter to air their outcry.
One wrote: “Argh how can Sam be Lachlan's latest victim, that's just so wrong #Emmerdale.”
“@jamhoot i hope you haven't left Emmerdale Sam has always been one of my faves i'll be very disappointed in Emmerdale if they have killed you off,” a second tweeted to the Sam Dingle actor.
A third exclaimed: “@emmerdale omg nah not #sam!!!!! Not that I'm that keen on him but no he can't have done sam aswell, can he? It was bad enough when u got rid of Rebecca but SAM???”(sic)
While a fourth simply stated: “Literally could cry at Emmerdale.”
However, although gripped by the events unfolding, others were demanding an end to the killer storyline and for Lachlan to get his comeuppance.
One wrote: “Seriously this serial killer story in #Emmerdale is past its due date.”
“As fantastic as Thomas Atkinson is it's been great to watch him really come into his own. I'm so ready for this story to end! #Emmerdale,” a second added.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow night at 7pm on ITV.
