Anders Breivik: ‘I regret killing only 77’
GUNMAN Anders Breivik is set to tell a court on Monday he regrets not massacring more than the 77 victims who died in his killing spree in Norway.
It comes as a psychiatric report yesterday declared him sane despite a previous evaluation that he was psychotic. The ruling means he could now face jail rather than a mental hospital.
Breivik admits killing eight people with a bomb in Oslo and 69 others in a shooting spree at an island youth camp last July, but denies criminal responsibility.
Yesterday his lawyer Geir Lippestad said the Right-wing extremist who launched a “war” against Muslims in Europe would say he regrets not killing more people.
Asked whether Breivik will defend his actions at his trial, expected to last 10 weeks, Mr Lippestad said: “He won’t only defend it, he will also regret that he didn’t go further.”
