Etihad plane declares ‘MID-AIR EMERGENCY’ on New York flight
AN ETIHAD Airways flight from Abu Dhabi to JFK Airport in New York has declared a mid-air emergency.

Etihad flight EY103 departed Abu Dhabi in the UAE at 2.50am local time and was scheduled to land in New York at 9.30am.
It has now declared an emergency over Iceland as it makes its way across the Atlantic Ocean.
The plane was forced to divert to Keflavik in Iceland.
Flight tracking website AirLive tweeted: “Etihad A380 flight #EY103 from Abu Dhabi to JFK is declaring an emergency.”

The plane is broadcasting a Squawk 7700 alert, which indicates a general emergency.
The flight has since landed safely in Iceland.
An Etihad spokeswoman told Express.co.uk the diversion was due to a medical emergency.
