Woods was asleep at the wheel of a stationary Mercedes-Benz vehicle on a Florida road and did not know where he was, according to a police report.
Police said Woods, 41, had no idea where he was, had “extremely slow and slurred speech” and was unable to walk unaided before he was charged with driving under the influence.
Woods, who has won 14 major titles, said his arrest was the result of “an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications” and not due to the consumption of alcohol.
After spending nearly four hours in Palm Beach County Jail, he said: “I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.
