NORTH Korea’s failed missile was heading towards Russia prompting Vladimir Putin to place his country on high alert amid World War Three fears, according to Seoul news reports.

The missile exploded moments after launching on Saturday and broke up in the Korean peninsula.
According to Seoul Economy Daily, the missile was heading towards Russia before it broke up.
The paper said: “If the ballistic missile that flew to the northeastern region had not failed, it would have been a harbour point or a Russian territory.

“It is for this reason that North Korea intentionally destroyed the missile.”
If these claims are proven to be true, North Korea’s relationship with Russia could be destroyed.
America’s National Security Adviser has said that America should be “prepared” to take military action against North Korea.

Russian chairman of defence and security Victor Ozerov said: "Russia closely follows the developments in North Korea. The air defence of the Russian Federation in the Far East has been put on high alert.
"We control the airspace in the zone of responsibility of the Russian air forces."
