Killer who 'thought he was a WEREWOLF' admits murdering his 'vampire mum'
A KILLER who describes himself as a "werewolf" says he killed his mother because she was a "vampire", according to police.
Sheaen Smith told police he was a 'werewolf'
Sheaen Smith, 29, was charged with second-degree murder after the body of his mother Aurora Buol-Smith was found at her home in Bellingham, Washington.
The 57-year-old was found with defence wounds on her fingers and forearms, and a knife was found at the scene.
Smith reportedly told police: "I stabbed her."
The defendant admitted to police that he's been using a lot of meth recently
Emergency services responded to the distressing call made by Smith, in which he admitted killing his mother.
During the call, he made a number of “delusional” claims, which included declaring he was a werewolf and his mother a vampire.
Officers said he repeated these when officers found him in the bedroom of his mother’s home.
Aurora Buol-Smith was found dead at her home
Bellingham Police Lieutenant Danette Beckley added that Smith had recently been hospitalised for drug-induced psychosis, and had been released just days before the killing.
The department tweeted that, based on statements made by the son to officers, there may have been a “sexual motivation” for the killing.
However, police are still awaiting post-mortem results for any signs of a sexual assault.
Sheaen Smith appeared in court on Monday charged with second-degree murder
Smith appeared at Whatcom Superior Court on Monday.
At the hearing, Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Eric Richey said: “The defendant admitted to police that he's been using a lot of meth recently, which is the reason for the voices in his head.”
