IVANKA TRUMP has urged for religious understanding and for people to respect places of worship after a spate of bomb threats targeting Jewish Community Centres.

The FBI has opened a crime probe after 11 centres received bomb threats on President’s Day, following 60 similar threats in January.
Ivanka tweeted: “America is a nation built on the principle of religious tolerance. We must protect our houses of worship & religious centers. #JCC.”

The threats were made to centres in 27 states as well as one Canadian province.

David Posner, director at the JCC Association of North America said in a statement: “While we are relieved that all such threats have proven to be hoaxes and that not a single person was harmed, we are concerned about the anti-Semitism behind these threats, and the repetition of threats intended to interfere with day-to-day life.”
Sean Spicer, the White House Press Secretary, added: “Hatred and hate-motivated violence of any kind have no place in a country founded on the promise of individuals freedom.
“The President has made it abundantly clear that these actions are unacceptable.”
JCCs were evacuated in Birmingham, Cleveland, Chicago, St. Paul, Tampa, Tulsa, Nashville, Milwaukee, Houston and Buffalo.

As a show of support, the Council on American-Islamic Relations offered a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible.

CAIR executive director Nihad Awad said in a statement: “It is the duty of American Muslims to offer support to the Jewish community and any minority group targeted in the recent spike in hate crimes nationwide,
“We hope this reward will aid in the swift apprehension and prosecution of the perpetrators.”
