Democrat accused of generating 'FAKE NEWS' after reading tweets from Flynn parody account
A LEADING Democrat's attempted attack on Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn backfired spectacularly after she read out a tweet from him in a conference - which turned out to be completely false.
Nancy Pelosi FALLS for fake Flynn Twitter account
Minority Leader of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi falsely said that General Flynn had described himself as a “scapegoat” in the blunder.
The embarrassing gaffe comes after the tweet was posted from a parody account.
She said: “The tweet of General Flynn today was ‘scapegoat’. Do you know what a scapegoat is?
“That means that in a community were people want to absolve themselves of guilt, they get a goat and they heap all of the ills onto the goat and then they run the goat out of town.

The good news is General Flynn is gone because he was totally inappropriate [and] wrong for the job
“What can be drawn from his statement is that other people have blame that should be shared in all of this.”
Mrs Pelosi’s outburst follows General Flynn’s resignation on Monday after reportedly misleading Vice President Mike Pence over phone calls he made in December to a Russian ambassador as Barack Obama imposed sanctions on Russia.
Mrs Pelosi continued: “The good news is General Flynn is gone because he was totally inappropriate [and] wrong for the job.”
However, the parody account in question, @GenMikeFlynn, hit back at the politician following the original tweets, which read: “While I accept full responsibility for my actions, I feel it is unfair that I have been made the sole scapegoat for what happened.
General Flynn resigned from Donald Trump's administration on Monday
“But if a scapegoat is what's needed for this Administration to continue to take this great nation forward, I am proud to do my duty.”
The account later hit out at politicians and media outlets for generating “fake news”.
It said Mrs Pelosi “issued statements based on 100% FAKE news”.
The user added: “It's a testament to the severity of liberal #FakeNews epidemic that Dem politicians falsely accuse others based on 100% unverified nonsense!”
