The First Lady-to-be hired lawyers from the Slovenian law firm, Pirc Muser & Partnerji in an attempt to stop the public using her name for commercial purposes without her consent.
Since her husband Donald Trump’s election victory last month, Mrs Trump has seen her face published on a Slovenian cake, and her name splashed across a range of goods including a jar of honey branded: “Melania’s Home Garden”.

Natasha Pirc Muser, the director of the Slovenian Law Firm, wrote in a statement: “This is indecent financial exploitation and infringement of personality rights.
“First we wanted to warn the public and now we count on their prudence to stop the practice.”
Born in Novo Mesto, a city in south-eastern Slovenia, Mrs Trump is still locally known by her maiden name Melanija Knavs, but they have been quick to make profits from the President Elect’s election victory.
Bruno Vidmar, owner of the local shop Pizzeria Rondo in Sevnica - central Slovenia - said business profits have increased by 20 per cent since the US election in November.

Mr Vidmar said he is “not worried” possible legal claims because he consulted his own lawyer before creating the new desserts.
However, Trump’s lawyer Muser said, the local goods will have to be removed if the President-elect’s wife finds them “insulting”.
