After she delivered a widely-mocked speech, announcing her support for the billionaire’s election campaign, the former Governor of Alaska is now reportedly tipped to become the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Shortly after ABC News published a report on her potential position, the former Vice-presidential nominee posted a message on Facebook: “We should be grateful we’ll soon have a commander-in-chief who will champion our vets and honour the promises our nation made.

“A pro-private sector individual who surely understands bigger government is NOT the answer.
“A president who promised to drain the swamp and clean up all government corruption… all things our vets and active duty troops deserve.”

The Department of Veterans Affairs has been under recent scrutiny because hospital patients have been subject to long waiting lists.
Passionately pledging to support and protect US veterans, polls suggest military veterans were a driving factor behind his election win. But it is uncertain whether Palin will be able to fulfil those promises.
Ms Palin’s eldest son is a veteran who served in the Iraq War throughout 2008.
Whilst several vacancies still remain across Trump’s administration, Linda McMahon, the former chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment told US reporters that she and Trump “had a really good conversation” about the Small Business Association.

During her seven year break from politics, Palin launched an online news network, and became a reality TV star.
