Knife horror: Seven children wounded by maniac outside primary school
A KNIFE-WILEDING man wounded at least seven children outside a primary school in northwestern China today, state media said, in the country's latest mass knifing attack.
An attacker in his 50's is said to have injured at least seven school children children
China Central Television (CCTV) said on its official Twitter feed that the attacker was in his 50s and had injured seven children, but did not give other details.
Photos posted by CCTV showed children being carried and rolled on a gurney to an ambulance.
The attack happened in the city of Hanzhong in Shaanxi, Xinhua state news agency said.
Violent crime is rare in China compared with many other countries, but there have been a series of knife and axe attacks in recent years, many targeting children.

Zheng Minsheng, a former community doctor in Fujian, was executed after he killed eight primary school pupils and wounded five others in Guangdong.
A 33-year-old former teacher Chen Kangbing stabbed 16 children and teachers with a knife in Leizhou, Guangdong.
Unemployed Xu Yuyuan attacked 28 children and three adults with an 8-inch knife in Taixing Zhongxin Kindergarten, Jiangsu.
