Young girl 'prodded in face with PENCILS by her teacher for not answering maths question'
A YOUNG girl who was unable to answer a simple maths question was allegedly prodded in the face with a bundle of pencils by her teacher.
The girl had six scabs where the pencils had cut her skin
The girl, believed to be between four and five years old, had been attending a private day-care facility which was later found to be operating without a licence.
After going home from school one day, her mother discovered that she had six small wounds on her face which had bled but which were then beginning to form scabs.
The girl's mother said her husband had notice the injuries first after taking the girl home in Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan Province, but believed they might have been caused by another child.

Authorities later discovered that the day-care centre was running without a license
It was not until the mother, with what she claimed were "maternal instincts", questioned her daughter that she learnt that the injuries had allegedly been caused by her teacher.
Neither the school or the teacher thought to take her to a hospital
It is claimed the teacher clutched a batch of nine pencils and pricked her hard in the face.
The mother was quoted as saying: "Neither the school or the teacher thought to take her to a hospital. They didn't even mention it us."
The girl went on to claim she was punished by her teacher after she could not answer 'what is 10 plus 9?'.

The teacher claimed he injured the girl, aged 4-5, by accident
The mother claimed the teacher later admitted causing the injuries, but said they were "accidental".
The highest education authority in Zhengzhou is now investigating the case and has found the day-care centre to be operating without a proper licence.
It has been suspended and the teacher will face charges for abuse.
