Train derails in Holland after hitting milk truck, several injured
A TRAIN derailed in Holland after hitting a milk truck this morning, injuring several people.
A passenger train has collided with a milk truck in Winsum, Netherlands
Police say the milk truck was struck at an unguarded rail crossing as it made its way from a farmyard.
Several people were injured, with one person taken to hospital.
Others were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The milk truck driver has not been hurt in the crash, which occured in Winsum, near the German border at the north of the country.
Images shared on social media show a passenger train buckled in a field. A group of passengers and witnesses have congregated on a road by a level crossing.

Local police Tweeted: "In the accident in #Winsum dozens of aid workers are involved. Give them plenty of room!
They said "several" passengers had been "wounded" but could not confirm exact details.
Several people have been hurt in the train crash
This is not the first time a train has crashed in Winsum. In 1980, nine people died when two trains crashed head-on in heavy fog.
And two years ago a 24-year-old man was killed at the same crossing as he passed the track in his car.
The incident occurred in Winsum in the north of the country
A 64-year-old man was also injured at the same crossing just six months earlier.
Local residents have long called for improvements to be made at the crossing and officials had promised to look into the issue.
