Hotel owner's flurry of Donald Trump bets wins him £100,000
Bookmakers paid out millions after a late surge on Donald Trump in the final weeks of the campaign.
John Mappin won £100,000 on 30 Donald Trump bets
John Mappin, owner of the Camelot Castle Hotel in Tintagel, Cornwall, placed 30 bets with William Hill over the past 18 months and won £100,000.
When Mr Trump announced his candidacy in June last year he was 150/1.
William Hill is also paying out £101,750 to a Nottingham customer who staked £37,000 on Mr Trump at odds of 7/4 last week.

But there were also some big losers. One woman in Hexham, Northumberland, placed £170,000 on a Clinton win at 1-8 on – she would have won £21,250.
She later topped this up with another £13,200 but lost it all. William Hill’s Graham Sharpe said it took a record £4million on the US election.
He said: “Trump started as a 150/1 no-hoper, but was very well backed, albeit in smaller amounts than we accepted for favourite Hillary Clinton.

“This campaign absolutely decimated all previous political betting records and shows what a popular betting subject politics is.”
Another woman from Exeter, Devon, lost £100,000 after backing Hilary Clinton.
The woman would have won £25,000.
