Syrian arrested in Berlin was 'plotting' to carry out ISIS attack in Germany
GERMAN lawyers claim a Syrian arrested in Berlin is suspected of belonging to ISIS (Islamic State).
Police in Germany think a Syrian they have arrested has IS connections
The lawyers say that the Syrian, named Ashraf Al-T, received instructions from IS to carry out an attack in Germany.
The man had been monitored for months by German police.
According to police, the suspect is a refugee from Syria, aged 27 and had been living in Germany since 2015.

The Syrian has been detained in an apartment in the Schoenberg district of Berlin while he is being investigated.
Security services in Germany are on high alert following two ISIS attacks this summer.
Berlin police tweeted: "Our state police forces #LKA have just arrested a man suspected of being a member of a foreign terrorist organisation."

The Interior Minister of Germany, Thomas de Maiziere
Germany's Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said on Thursday, "it is very good this person has been taken out of circulation."
Officials have revealed that information from Germany’s domestic intelligence agency triggered the investigation.

The suspect is believed to have been in contact with an IS member in Syria who is responsible for operations abroad.
