Drone worth £45m CRASHES in Afghanistan – but officials say it WASN’T downed by enemy
A DRONE worth £45 million has crashed in Afghanistan, military officials have confirmed.
A US MQ-9 Reaper drone has crashed in southern Afghanistan
According the US Air Force an MQ-9 Reaper aircraft crashed at a base in southern Afghanistan yesterday.
The incident is not suspected to be of a hostile nature and no casualties have been reported.

Hostile fire was not a factor
In a statement, Captain Bryan L Bouchard said the MQ-9 Reaper went down at Kandahar Airfield.
He said the cause of the crash is under investigation but he added that "hostile fire was not a factor".
Kandahar Airfield, which is the largest base in Afghanistan, is being renovated by the US-NATO mission for mixed military and civilian use.
