CRICKET star Shane Warne has cast doubt on the theory of evolution after saying he believes humans “started from aliens”.

The sports personality offered his view on Darwin’s theory of natural selection during the Australian series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of here.
The former Australian cricketer, known as one of the best bowlers in the history of the game, said during Monday’s show: “If we’ve evolved from monkeys, then why haven’t those ones (today) evolved?
“Because, I’m saying, aliens. We started from aliens.”
Talking to fellow contestant and former dancer Bonnie Lythgoe, Warne added: “Look at those pyramids, Bonnie.

“You couldn’t do them. You couldn’t pull those ropes, huge bits of brick and make it perfectly symmetrical. Couldn’t do it. So who did it?”
Ms Lythgoe said: “Has to be from another world, has to be.”

The cricket star said: “Whatever planet they’re on out there, they decided that they were gonna start some more life here on earth and study us.”
In response to Ms Lythgoe’s remark that humans share many similarities with monkeys, Warne said: “Maybe they turned a few monkeys into humans.”

Social media has reacted to Warne’s bizarre comments, with one Twitter user posting: “It must be tough for scientists to see a layperson like Warne come along and disprove evolution so easily.”
Warne’s entry into the jungle started days after the cricketer announced his foundation would be closed down after a government investigation into its finances.

It emerged last week a raffle held by the foundation gave away a car worth £41,000. But it was won by Warne’s former personal assistant, Helen Nolan, who was a former general manager of the foundation.
