Fabled city where monkeys were worshipped as gods discovered by archaeologists in Honduras
ARCHAEOLOGISTS believe they have found a fabled Lost City of the Monkey Gods in the jungles of Honduras.

Journalist Theodore Morde claimed in 1940 he had found a city with evidence that monkeys were worshipped as gods.
He committed suicide to ensure it was not found and looted.
Now a team from the US, UK and Honduras using infra-red mapping have uncovered two cities built between 1000 and 1400AD.
US leader Chris Fisher said one city, with plazas, houses, pyramids and priceless artefacts, was overrun with monkeys.
