Best-seller Elmore Leonard dies at 87
BEST-SELLING US crime writer Elmore Leonard died yesterday aged 87.
He had suffered complications following a stroke last month.
Leonard – or “Dutch” as he was sometimes known – wrote 45 novels including Be Cool and Get Shorty, which became hit films starring John Travolta.
Other big movie successes based on his work include Out of Sight starring George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez, and 3:10 To Yuma starring Russell Crowe.
He was married three times and is survived by five children, all from his first wife Beverly Cline.
His family were at his bedside when he died at home in Michigan.
