Ukrainian drones targeted a major Russian port on the Black Sea overnight, causing a massive fire to rip through the area. Kyiv's army has been relentlessly targeting Russia's fuel economy over the past few months with devastating results.

The aim is to cripple Vladimir Putin's war machine by disrupting both fuel supplies to the Kremlin's army and exports of its energy products. The Kremlin relies heavily on oil and gas exports to fund its grinding and illegal invasion of Ukraine. Over the past few months, Ukraine has hit more than 50 oil depots, causing mayhem in the Russian economy.

Overnight, Ukraine once again unleashed waves of drones at targets across Russia, including Temryuk port in the Krasnodar Krai.

The UAVS struck two tanks containing oil in the port, sparking a huge blaze that covered about 2,000 metres.

Officials in Krasnodar confirmed the attack, saying firefighters were battling to contain the raging inferno.

"The total area of the fire is about 2 thousand square meters," they said in a statement posted to Telegram.

"70 people and 18 units of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire, including employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Krasnodar Krai. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties."

The port handles various types of cargo, including liquefied natural gas used to supply the Russian military.

Officials also reported that buildings at an agricultural enterprise were damaged in the attack.

"There are no casualties. Several production buildings and agricultural machinery of the enterprise were damaged," they said.

This is not the first time the port has been attacked this month; an earlier strike also caused significant damage.

Drones struck the port on December 9, setting ablaze 20 out of 30 fuel tanks.
