Dallas shooting: 'Sniper on roof' as at least three shot in horror gun attack
Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem wrote online "that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence".
Dallas: Three killed in shooting at ICE facility
Three people have been shot at an Immigration and U.S. Customs Enforcement detention facility in Dallas, Texas. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons confirmed the shooting during an interview on CNN on Wednesday, adding that the shooter, named in media reports as Joshua Jahn, 29, has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“It could be employees, it could be civilians that were visiting the facility, it could be detainees,” Lyons said of those who were shot. “At this point, we’re still working through that.” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said details were still emerging but the agency was confirming there were “multiple injuries and fatalities.” Noem said the motive remained unclear but noted there has been an uptick of targeting of ICE agents.

Homeland Security Secretary blames
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has blamed “far-left” rhetoric for the deadly killing this morning.

FBI Director - 'Attack was politically motivated'
FBI Director Kash Patel says that the attack was politically motivated, citing messages written on ammunition found at the scene.
He said: "This morning just before 7am local time, an individual fired multiple rounds at a Dallas, Texas ICE facility, killing one, wounding several others, before taking his own life. FBI, DHS, ATF are on the ground with Dallas PD and state authorities.
"While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an idealogical motive behind this attack."
One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.”
"More updates will be forthcoming. These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off.
"We are only miles from Prarieland, Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers.
"It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.
"Thankfully, no law enforcement personnel were injured. Please pray for the injured and deceased."

“Again, only two units from Channel Five if we have anyone that can start that way.”
Previous attacks blamed on 'months of smears'
Following an attack on an ICE facility in August, a Department of Homeland statement blamed the violence on "months of smears and rhetoric by activists, politicians, and the media comparing ICE law enforcement to the Nazi Gestapo, kidnappers, and the Secret Police."
They added: "This shameful rhetoric has fueled a culture of hate against law enforcement resulting in a 1,000 percent increase in assaults against them. All sanctuary politicians, activists, and the media need to turn down their temperature.”

Third ICE facility targeted in a year
This morning’s shooting marked at least the third instance of an Immigration Customs and Border Protection facility being targeted by gunfire in Texas this year.
In August, 36-year-old Bratton Dean Wilkinson approached a facility and claimed to have a bomb in his backpack,” according to the Department of Homeland Security.
In July, a group of people attacked Prairieland Detention Center near Fort Worth, Texas, in an incident that saw an officer shot in the neck. Officals described it as a "co-ordinated attack," with more than a dozen people later charged by authorities.
Just days later, a man in tactical gear and armed with a rifle was shot dead by police after opening fire on a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, injuring two officers and a civilian employee.
Same facility received a bomb threat
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News that the same ICE facility had recently received a bomb threat. She explained that police will be looking into how long today's shooter might have been planning this attack.
