The exact spot where Jay Slater fell to his death has been revealed by authorities in Tenerife.

The 19-year-old went missing after attending a music festival in the northwest of the island. He left the event with two men, going to their Airbnb near the town of Masca.

The next morning, Jay missed his bus and set off on foot to get back to his friends, who were an 11 hour walk away.

Jay tragically fell and hit his head while walking on tough terrain in Teno Rural Park.

After a month of searching, police eventually found Jay's remains last Monday.

Jay's family asked Dutch search team Signi Zoekhonden to find the spot where Jay fell, and their dog called Flex managed to pinpoint where the accident occurred.

They sent pictures and other evidence back to Jay's family, who have been left heartbroken after his unexpected death.

Jay’s body revealed that he had suffered multiple injuries consistent with an accidental fall from a considerable height.

A Spanish Civil Guard spokesman said that Jay's injuries included several broken bones.

They added: "The body of the man located yesterday has been identified of that as Jay Slater through fingerprint comparison and identification. The result of the preliminary autopsy points to the cause of death being a fall or plunge from height due to the broken bones he suffered."

A GoFundMe page for Jay has raised £73,000. His mother, Debbie Duncan, has used the funds to arrange travel to and from Tenerife for family members.

It has been reported that she will now use some of the funds to repatriate Jay's body.

In her latest statement, released last week, Debbie said: "Hello everyone, thank you for all of your kindness, support and condolences in light of the tragic news that Jay's body has been found. We are overwhelmed with grief and are so grateful for your support.

"The wonderful team from the Netherlands, Signi Zoekhondon, have remained in Spain all week and have continued to support us since Jay was found.

"They are due to fly home in the coming days and we are so appreciative of their dedication and support."

"We would like to thank LBT Global for their support during this impossible time. We are working with agencies to arrange Jay's repatriation to the UK and the remaining funds, along with any future donations will be used to help with this if needed and to pay for Jay's funeral costs back home.

"We want to give our boy the send-off he deserves so please do continue to share and support our fundraiser however you can.
