This beautiful seaside town near the Portuguese border is home to Spain’s “best all-inclusive hotel”, an award it has won five times in recent years, and offers golden beaches and cultural tourism.

The province of Huelva, located on the picturesque Costa de la Luz, sits between the estuaries of the Odiel and Tinto rivers on the Atlantic coast of the Gulf of Cádiz.

It is just 31.6 miles from the border with Portugal.

About 18 miles from the town you will find Doñana National Park and the historic village of El Rocío, offering visitors a rich experience of cultural and ecological tourism.

The golden beaches and pleasant climate of Costa de la Luz - around 32C in July and August - complete the offering, making this destination perfect for an unforgettable holiday.

The city acquired its status as a Ciudad by royal decree in 1876. It is also home to Recreativo de Huelva, the oldest football club in Spain.

The closest airports to the city are Faro Airport and Seville Airport. The city’s port offers weekly ferries to Arrecife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

The award-winning Hotel Barceló Isla Canela is found right on the beachfront, in the ideal location for those seeking both fun and relaxation.

It has impressive facilities including several pools and nearby golf courses. It is designed in the traditional style of traditional Andalusian villages.

It was also nominated in 2022. The World Travel Awards are considered to be the “Oscars of tourism,” according to El Confidencial
