25 killed in Afghanistan bus blast
A packed bus has hit a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, killing 25 passengers and wounding 20, officials said.
The bus was travelling on a main road towards the capital of Kabul when it struck the explosive, according to Nazir Ahmad, a spokesman for the Nimroz provincial government.
The explosion occurred near Delaram - a volatile area close to the borders of Helmand and Farah provinces.
Meanwhile, Nato forces said a US service member was killed in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
July is already one of the deadliest months for US troops in the nearly nine-year Afghan war, with 59 service members killed so far.
