Russia nuclear panic as fire breaks out on ice-breaking container ship
The huge container ship was docked at a Russian port when a fire broke out onboard
Alarm bells were raised after a fire reportedly broke out on a huge nuclear-powered container ship in Russia.
Unconfirmed reports on the X account Visegrad24 say there was a fire on the Sevmorput ship. It was reportedly docked in the Port of Murmansk at the time.
Built in 1988, Sevmorput is the largest nuclear-powered container ship in Russia. It is designed to be able to break through the ice.
It is currently unclear what the source of the fire was.
Visegrad reported: "Nuclear incident in northern Russia. A fire erupted on the nuclear-powered ice-breaking container ship Sevmorput in the Port of Murmansk.
"It’s the largest nuclear-powered ship in Russia."
