Earthquake hits off coast of Taiwan
A moderate 6.3-magnitude earthquake has struck east of Taiwan, although authorities said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The country's Central Weather Bureau said the quake struck at 1.36am local time. It was centred about 14 miles east of Hualien County in eastern Taiwan, 85 miles south-east of the capital.
The weather bureau warned residents in coastal areas to watch out for higher waves, but has not issued a tsunami warning.
