AUSTRALIA Day is a significant day in the country, as it is a day to reflect on contemporary Australia and acknowledge the founding of the country. It also means a three-day weekend for Aussies, so will bottle shops be open today?

Australia Day is celebrated on January 26 and commemorates the founding of the country on January 26, 1788 of the colony of New South Wales. As Australia Day falls on a Saturday, the following Monday is observed as a bank holiday. This mean bottle shops may have varied opening times over the three-day weekend but many will remain open as Aussies stock up to celebrate the long weekend.
Dan Murphy’s
Most Dan Murphy’s stores will be open regular trading house on Saturday and Sunday and will be open between 9am and 7pm on Monday.

Woolworths and Coles
Woolworth and Coles supermarket stores across Australia will be open over the long weekend.
Coles supermarket in Victoria, New South Wales, ACT, and Northern Territory will observe regular trading hours.
Queensland stores at Ayr, Goondiwindi and Mt Isa will be closed, but the state’s other stores will open to revised public holiday hours.
Adelaide Coles stores will also be closed except for Rundle Place and CBD which are trading from 11am to 5pm and regional South Australia will open to regular hours.
Coles Perth metro stores will trade from 8am until 6pm and regional Western Australia will open to regular hours.
ALDI
ALDI store trading hours in Queensland and Western Australia will follow normal trading times on Saturday and Sunday, however opening times in these states will vary on Monday.
Some Aldi stores in New South Wales will trade to normal hours over the long weekend.
Opening hours in South Australia and Victoria will vary from Saturday to Monday.

Bunnings
Bunnings stores across Australia will trade as usual over the weekend and Monday.
Ikea
The majority of IKEA stores will be open from 9am or 10am over the three-day weekend.
Some locations, such as Richmond, Springvale (Vic) and Tempe (NSW) are staying open until 9pm on Monday.
Westfield
Westfield Centres across the country remain trading as usual over the weekend, but Monday will observe Sunday trading hours.
Chad stone shopping centre in Melbourne will be open as usual over the weekend, then on Monday 10am to 6pm.
