Queen Victoria's knickers go for £4,500
A PAIR of cotton bloomers owned by Queen Victoria and expected to fetch £500, made £4,500 at auction in Mackworth, Derby, yesterday.
The 50-inch knickers, from the 1890s, bear the initials VR for Victoria Regina.
They are open-crotch, with separate legs joined by a draw-string – a popular style then.
