Trucker drives into flood well
AN UNLUCKY trucker really got himself into a hole - when he drove more than 50ft straight down into a giant flood well.
Lin May, 45, had been driving home after making a delivery in Shangdong province, eastern China, when he felt the ground give way under his cab.
He said: "I felt a bump but most of the roads in China have bumps so I ignored it. Then there was a terrible groan and the earth just fell away.
"The cab slowly tipped over the edge and dragged the whole truck down there on top of us. It was pretty scary," he explained.
According to the Austrian Times, engineers had left the cover off the well after clearing it of debris following local floods.
One rescuer added: "It was full of rubble and had been used as a channel to get rid of flood waters. Someome forgot to put the lid back on though."
