UK weather forecast: Snow will fall on the UK this week
Snow set to rattle through UK as temperatures plunge
February half term 2018 is well underway - but those hoping for a bit of pre-spring sunshine look set to be out of luck.
The coming week is looking fairly grey and dreary, cold for many with a mix of rain, snow, hailed and strong winds.
According to the Met Office, the first half of the week will be dominated by spells of wind, rain and, in places, a bit of snow.
Half term week will become a little bit drier later towards the end - with Thursday and Friday, in particular, looking a little brighter.
Chief Meteorologist Laura Paterson said: “Three yellow warnings have been issued for a spell of heavy rain, strong winds, snow and ice across different parts of the country on Tuesday morning.
“Further heavy rain, strong winds and hill snow is expected on Wednesday with blustery wintry showers following thereafter.”
The Met Office weather forecast comes as bookies Ladbrokes slashed the odds that snow falls every day this week in the UK, making it now odds on at 4/5.
However, it is also just a 5/1 chance snow falls out of the sky every day from now until the end of February - while it is 2/5 that February goes down in history as the coldest ever.
