BBC Weather: Cold conditions to hit UK with -10C in Scotland
Weather woman Carol Kirkwood told Brits to brace themselves for temperatures to drop in parts of Scotland and the North, as temperatures begin to fall to minus ten. And as we head into the weekend we can expect more gusty winds which will make things feel even cooler. BBC Weather's Carol Kirkwood warned Brits to prepare for colder conditions and more snow, and ice. Ms Kirkwood also predicted a widespread frost in certain parts of the country. There are three yellow weather warnings, that have been issued today by the Met Office for snow, ice and wind.
Ms Kirkwood said: "So some showers and windy conditions in Northern Ireland.
"For England and for Wales, when we say goodbye to the cloud and also the rain from this morning it will brighten up there will be some sunshine.
"But where ever you are it is going to be a blustery day.
"And by the afternoon as our low pressure pushes towards the North sea the strongest winds will be above Southern Scotland and the Pennines and in through the North East of England.

Ms Kirkwood added: "Temperatures today are ranging from one in Lower Wick to six in Newcastle, and nine in Plymouth.
"But because of the wind and the direction of the wind, it will feel colder than that.
"For example that one in Lower Wick will feel more like minus 5.
"Now through this evening and overnight the low pressure does move away, it will be windy for a time down the East coast.

Ms Kirkwood added: "Then we have clearer skies and just a few wintery showers on high ground in the West.
"And we're looking at a widespread frost, a sharp frost across Scotland.
"Where we've got laying snow the temperature could easily fall away to minus ten degrees.
"So a cold start with the risk of ice once again tomorrow.

Ms Kirkwood added: "A lot of sunshine to start with, just a few showers in the West.
"But through the course of the day, the cloud will start to build in the West ahead of our next band of rain.
"And once again it's going to feel cold with temperature between about four and nine degrees."
