Donald Trump has brutally mocked President Joe Biden after the 81-year-old appeared to freeze at a Juneteenth celebration at the White House on Monday.

Biden was filmed standing completely still for around a minute while Vice President Kamala Harris clapped and danced next to him.

Eventually, Philonise Floyd — the brother of George Floyd – put his arm around the President.

Biden then smiled at Floyd and exchanged a fist bump.

Reacting to the bizarre footage, the Trump campaign's "war room" account posted on X: “Lights are on but no one’s home."

With November's election edging closer, Biden's cognitive decline could be a key issue that his opponents look to exploit.

Other Republican Party figures were quick to mock President Biden.

The Republican National Committee posted on X: |Why isn't Biden moving?"

Senator Mike Lee of Utah added: "Who said Biden's got no rhythm?"

The latest incident comes after the Wall Street Journal released a damning report last week, citing numerous sources who expressed concern over Biden's cognitive decline.

One source said of a meeting with Mr Biden: "You couldn't be there and not feel uncomfortable."

They described how the President took 10 minutes to greet 20 people at a meeting about Ukraine.

Another incident reportedly saw Mr Biden mix up the names of two Hispanic colleagues

Former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said of Mr Biden: “I used to meet with him when he was vice president. I’d go to his house. He’s not the same person.”

Mr Biden's term in office has been plagued by repeated errors and gaffes in public appearances.

Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report in February that described the President as a "well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory."

He therefore ruled Mr Biden would not face prosecution for retention of classified documents.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates has defended Mr Biden, telling the Wall Street Journal: “Congressional Republicans, foreign leaders, and nonpartisan national-security experts have made clear in their own words that President Biden is a savvy and effective leader who has a deep record of legislative accomplishment.

"Now, in 2024, House Republicans are making false claims as a political tactic that flatly contradict previous statements made by themselves and their colleagues.”
