Sick hospital security guard accused of having sex with 79-year-old woman’s corpse
Randall Bird, a now ex-security guard, has been accused of having sex with the corpse of a 79-year-old woman.
A security guard has been arrested after his colleagues allegedly caught him in the act of having sex with the corpse of a 79-year-old woman inside a hospital morgue.
Randall Bird, a now ex-security guard at the Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, has been handed multiple charges following his arrest on Tuesday, following a police investigation that started late last month.
According to court documents, Bird's colleagues caught him on October 22 with his belt and zip down, and his uniform looking "messy".
The 46-year-old's job is to bring dead bodies into the morgue and put them into the freezer, but another colleague claims she saw him “sweating profusely” and “acting very nervous” while doing so.
Allegedly, the body of the 79-year-old was found in an unzipped body bag, face down with Bird’s belt next to her.

When other security guards walked in on the scene, Bird allegedly rushed around to cover his tracks and make everything seem normal.
The court documents said he quickly tried to cover the woman’s body and then claimed he had a medical episode, before passing out onto the floor.
He insisted that the body bag and its zip broke during his fall, as he reached to grab it on his way down, but his colleagues did not believe him and reported the incident to their supervisors.
A few days later, Bird was interviewed by police, still maintaining that the body bag broke as a result of his fall, and that the medical episode he suffered meant he couldn't rememebr what happened in that room.
However, an investigation that launched at the end of last month found his DNA at the scene and injuries on the woman's body, even though she died of natural causes.
