Tucked away in the mountains of Utah is the ultra-trendy ski resort at the centre of a high-profile civil case involving Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow. The slopes of Deer Valley regularly host world-level contests, including the 2002 Winter Olympics, and have taken the accolade of America’s best ski resort on multiple occasions.
It has been compared to a winter oasis for its distance from the metropolis hustle and bustle, located 36 miles east of Salt Lake City.
And celebrities such as Larry David, Neil Patrick Harris and Clueless star Alicia Silverstone are known to have enjoyed the spot in the past.
The 2,026-acre park boasts over 103 Olympian-approved runs and is where Paltrow, 50, is accused of crashing into another skier, which she denies.
He is suing her for $300,000 (£242,256), but Oscar-winner Paltrow, star of Seven and Iron Man, is countersuing for $1 plus her legal fees.
Sanderson claims the collision at the upmarket resort left him with brain damage and broken ribs, while Paltrow has denied being responsible.
Her lawyer has said the crash is Sanderson’s fault.
The incident took place on the slopes of Flagstaff Mountain on February 26, 2016.
