Elon Musk discusses conspiracy theories surrounding Twitter
Anyone who ever thought there was something a bit suspicious about Twitter in the days before Elon Musk took over would be right, according to the multi-billionaire. Laughing as he addressed the issue in a podcast episode he said that all the conspiracy theories about his new endeavour are turning out to be true.
Speaking on All-In, he said: "To be totally frank, almost every conspiracy theory that people had about Twitter turned out to be true.
"Is there a conspiracy theory about Twitter that didn't turn out to be true?"
"So far, they've all turned out to be true and if not more true than people thought."
During his appearance on the programme he was asked whether there was any "part of the files that really shocked you", to which he replied "[the] FBI stuff is pretty intense."
Mr Musk was referring to documents which were released in a Twitter thread by journalist Matt Taibbi on December 2.
Files in the thread include revelations about reports which conspiracy theorists show is evidence of American government collusion and attempts to control narratives and suppress speech.

And, as conspiracy theorists believed from the start of the pandemic, there was evidence which seemed to suggest Twitter was suppressing information from doctors and public health officials about Covid which was at odds with American government policy.
The FBI has accused the people who are disclosing the Twitter Files of being conspiracy theorists.
In a statement the American law enforcement agency said: "The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries."
