Republicans projected to win majority in House of Representatives, flipping from Democrats
The results from 10 outstanding races are yet to be called.
The Republicans are projected to win control of the US House of Representatives, having flipped it from Democrat control. Election results analysts at Decision Desk HQ have forecast the GOP holding at least 218 seats in the House, with 10 still to be called.
As it currently stands, the Republic party has 217 seats and needs just one more to secure a majority.
The Democrats have secured 208 seats so far.
Several races still to be called in California could give the Republicans a majority by Tuesday evening US time, while more results from Colorado are expected to be called on Wednesday.
President Biden has asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stay on in Congress and hold a leadership role, though the Republicans will look to replace her with their own Speaker.
Decision Desk HQ projects Republicans have won a majority in the U.S. House with at least 218 seats.
