Manchester stabbing: Woman in hospital after being attacked in NECK
A WOMAN is in hospital after she was stabbed in the neck leaving her with serious injuries in Manchester on Sunday morning and a teenager has been arrested.
The stabbing took place after a reported argument in Abbey Hey, Manchester
The incident happened on Plantation Street in Abbey Hey, Manchester at around 1am on Sunday morning.
Neighbours said they has seen an “argument” on Saturday morning between a woman and two men. Another neighbour said they had heard “shouting”.
One neighbour has reportedly said: “To be honest I’m not very shocked to hear what has happened”.
Forensic officers have been at the scene of the stabbing
A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police said that a 19-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
They said: “Shortly after 1am on Sunday, police were called by the North West Ambulance Service to reports that a woman had been stabbed on Plantation Street in Gorton.
“Officers attended and a cordon is in place.
The stabbing happened in South East Manchester
“A 30-year-old woman has been taken to hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.
“A 19-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. She remains in custody for questioning.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
Forensic officers have been inside the properly investigation what happened and a police van and car have been parked outside.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at hospital and her exact state is not known.
