Brexiteer TRASHES claim Remainers' 'disrespectful' digs at older Brexit voters
THE DIRECTOR of Youtube channel Politics UK trashed Remainers’ argument that young people should have more of a say due to the shifting demographics in Britain.
Claim old people's Brexit vote counts for less is 'disrespectful'
Steve Edginton, 18, political blogger and owner of Youtube channel Politics UK, dismantled the claim many people who voted in favour of Brexit will be dead by the time the UK will have left the EU.
Speaking on TalkRadio, Mr Edginton said it is “quite disrespectful” to claim younger people deserve more of a say in the Brexit debate than older voters.
At the heart of the claim rebutted by Mr Edginton is the student campaign Our Future, Our Choice run by young people who believed Brexit should be stopped.
Brexit news: Young Brexiteer trashes claim older people's voice counts less in Brexit debate
He said: “It’s like saying that older people have less of a decision over our lives, that’s not how democracy works.
“One vote equals one vote. It doesn’t matter who you are.
“Young people don’t deserve more of a voice than older people. That’s quite disrespectful.

Young people don’t deserve more of a voice than older people. That’s quite disrespectful
“Couldn’t young people consider for one moment that maybe older people have more experience and they’re maybe a bit wiser.
“And they’ve had to live with the consequences of being in the EU for the last 43 years.
“Surely those people deserve a voice just as much as young people.”
The young student added it was important to remember many young working class people also voted to Leave.
He said: “The majority of people who are young voted Remain, I accept that.
“But if you look at the statistics about 45 per cent of young working-class people voted to leave.
“What about those people?”
