A GERMAN journalist has ripped into Great Britain for being “self-obsessed” and claimed that “not everything is about Great Britain” as it cuts ties with the European Union.
'Get over yourself!' German journalist slams Brexiteers
German journalist John Junclaussen ridiculed the claim that German car manufactures would be damaged as a result of ‘no deal’ during his angry tirade.
The journalist also claimed that Brexiteers need to get “over yourselves” and said that the EU was not out to get the UK.
He said: “I have spent half my life in this country. But Brexit has brought out something in the Brits that I hadn’t encountered before.
“A kind of national egotism and a vanity. Everywhere there is talk about the EU wants to punish Britain, what’s that about?
Brexit news: John Junclaussen told Brexit Britain to 'get over yourselves' during his explosive rant
“You leave the club that’s fine, but if the rest of the member state then want to decide among themselves what to do next, you think they are out to get you, really?”
Mr Junclaussen also criticised “pompous Brexiteers” for continually going on about “no deal” on BBC Daily Politics.
He said: “You talk about ‘no deal’ until the cows come home. But if the EU only mentions no deal, you Brexiteers get all flustered and write angry letters.
“This is not just about you Britain, this is about the future of Europe too.

This is not just about you Britain, this is about the future of Europe too
“In the last 18 months, endless lines of pompous Brexiteers have warned German car manufacturers that ‘no deal’ would mean armies of newly unemployed workers in Stuttgart and Wolfsburg as UK sales plummet. What a load of nonsense.
“You know what? These markets are far more complicated than such black and white scenarios implied.
“Not everything is about you Great Britain, Europe isn’t out to get you. They have other things to think about on the continent, not just Brexit.
“So you should just get over yourselves and stop being so self-obsessed.”
The comments come as the UK is set to move onto trade negotiations with the European Union.
Theresa May has insisted that Britain is seeking a bespoke deal with the European Union, but will be leaving both the single market and customs union.
